What is an undermount butler sink?
The answer
An undermount butler sink is fixed beneath the worktop, so the worktop edge overhangs the bowl and you can wipe crumbs straight in. It gives clean lines but needs a suitable worktop material that tolerates exposed cut edges and constant moisture, careful sealing and secure support from below. Not every butler sink is made for undermounting, so check the manufacturer's installation instructions before buying, and ask your worktop supplier how to seal the cut edge.
