Are butler sinks heavy?

Many are, especially those made from ceramic or enamelled cast iron, and they become much heavier once filled with water and dishes. Lighter materials such as stainless steel place less demand on the cabinet. Check the maker's published weight and support guidance, which a good seller will give you in writing, and ask a qualified installer whether your cabinet and floor are suitable before you order. A damp or weak older cabinet may need replacing rather than reinforcing.
