Waste
The waste is the outlet at the bottom of the bowl and the fittings that connect it to the drainage pipework. Waste fittings come in different sizes and types, such as plug-and-chain, pop-up or basket-strainer, and they must match the diameter of the sink's outlet hole and any overflow connection. A mismatch is a common cause of leaks, so ask the seller to confirm that the waste you choose suits the exact sink model. See also: Overflow, Basket-strainer waste, Trap.
