Stainless steel sink
A stainless steel sink is pressed or fabricated from stainless steel. It is lighter than ceramic, so it asks less of the cabinet, and it resists chipping, but it can show fine scratches and water marks, particularly on a mirror finish; brushed or satin finishes tend to hide wear better. Thin steel can be noisy under a running tap unless the underside is sound-deadened. Thickness and finish vary between makers, so read the specification before buying.
